I'm On A Mount (World of Warcraft - I'm On A Boat Parody) finally finished! http://tinyurl.com/yd5j8yh #imonamount - watch in full HD.

So I started doing videos back in May and had an idea to do this but knew it had to be decently put together. Decided to wait and practice with adobe premiere elements as well as recording a bit more. Doing a parody of I'm On A Boat is as far from original as you can get, but wanted to try to do a good version for the WoW community and the youtube community is very friendly to parody work in general.

For the sound this was some good practice with recording and setting levels in Ableton, first time using Auto-tune and a lot of practice actually doing recordings of singing and putting together the voices. As I'm sure everyone that does this figures out, you sound a lot different then you imagine when you listen to yourself! For the video there was a lot of light practice as well as some subtle (and some not-so-subtle) movements with the camera to make it look natural. I felt a bit at a disadvantage here because, I'm using Adobe Premiere 'ELEMENTS' meaning I'm probably missing a lot of pro version filters. One of those filters is almost surely like a natural camera movement one. The movement in the original video was just so consistent and smooth. The biggest thing to improve for my next videos is to stop trying to add too much content. Sometimes my videos come out jammed and little things that I put in I think are funny or interesting are just too hard to understand when they whip by in 1.3 seconds of video.

This was a super fun song and video to make that was delayed this month a bit with family, vacation (and a sweet family movie that hasn't been posted), and work of course. I'll be adding a MP3 of the song in the next day or two. There is some demand for another pvp damage movie but it will be a while before getting to another one of those. It's more likely that I'll be taking a step back and looking at changing directions to become compliant with googles rules on copyrighted content. Maybe that will mean changing how videos are put together or how much content is put in, it may also eventually mean even removing a lot of my content (not definite and way down the road), but if thats how it has to be, thats how it has to be.. I would find another place to store it and keep 'approved' content available on youtube.

In order to pump out some pvp content, since most of my content to this point has been based on pvp, I decided to put together 5 or 6 one minute pvp videos.

*The rule was to only participate in one battleground and produce a pvp video out of each one.*

These were teasers, if you will, flavored with pvp - different music and different classes. This would also get me some practice making videos quickly as well as being very selective on content since battlegrounds last only 5-20 minutes. The first video was of my mage here:

This one was really fun to make, love the apocalyptica in it.

When I was done with the 4th video and taking a break for whatever reason super mario popped into my head and I started imagining what it would be like to play mario in a battleground - decided to make that one of the 1 minute videos. This was, in my opinion, the most fun and judging by the response (based on views/comments) a lot of people agree. And so, maybe the only place you can see Super Mario in a battleground...

Finished my second attempt at a machinima music video. 'Intrinsic' (song by Tranquilatwist). LegsMachinima (1st place in BlizzCon's 2009 Machinima contest) gave me some great comments on it, very encouraging (and flattering)!!! :)

Embedding below but I highly recommend going to this http://tinyurl.com/mufxeu and seeing it High Def and on a bigger screen. Turn your sound up!

Second video dose of BlizzCon is finished and available. This one includes clips from Disneyland the day before BlizzCon.

I found out after posting this that my brother does have 2 additional disks from the trip that were left in his camera bag... If I find anything else interesting maybe there will be a prequel since those seem more trendy these days.

Will be posting another video shortly that I did, but as a quick update on projects going on:

- must do: camping vid (for my wife, but will probably post public :)
- experiment: with a series so I can continue PVP videos - going to do '1 minute pvp video #1-#5 (mage, lock, ret/holy pal, dk)' probably by the end of this weekend. plan to hop in 1-2 battlegrounds per character and just take the best (or maybe the worst if they're worth watching) and stick together what I can. want to see if its possible to have some fun in bgs (and making videos) while still giving me plenty of time for my bigger project vids.
- big proj: im on a mount, parody of a parody song and machinima video

long term or back burner projects:
- 'breathe breathe', lot of work to be done on this original song. i think its catchy anyhow...
- 'WoW Wedding' (parody of White Wedding). Secured an amazing instrumental for this done by Boaz Bar Levy. This probably wont be an entire song parody, a buddy wrote a minutes worth of lyrics and I will eventually lay this down and put it to a video.

My BlizzCon 2009 Experience is portrayed completely innaccurately in the video just finished today at http://tinyurl.com/nrxaj8. ;)

Our BlizzCon 2009 Experience with random clips from our trip there, people places and things that happened. My 3 brothers and friend Greg attended with me. Except for the people named at the beginning the rest are other BlizzCon attendees we randomly met at the convention - a lot of fun people there. I will be doing an extended version that includes part of our trip to Disneyland and some additional clips that had to be cut due to the time limit. It is insanely hard to cut 10 minutes of video out of hours of recordings. My first time ever doing it..

Apologies for the spotty camera work - I've also never done live videos and the borrowed camera I used may have been from 1999. I'll buy actual equipment someday including *microphones*...

If you want to see bad camera work, even worse editing and real people from BlizzCon then you came to the right video.

If you're looking for high quality camera work and beautiful scenes check out LegsMachinima BlizzCon 2009 Impressions instead:

The embedded version for either of our videos just won't do them justice so head over to youtube and check them out.

Wanted to practice with with some effects and keyframing and got an idea to put together a video that mixed both live and wow vid. Seriously this is not NOT how I play wow. Seriously. Finishing the my mage song and vid next then onto another project.

This is hands down one of the best machinima wow flavored song remakes I've ever seen, highly recommend checking it out. It was done by Summergale (www.summergale.net), Cranius (www.cranius.com) and Legs (www.youtube.com/legsmachinima) I'll let it speak for itself:

Finished the lyrics last night for the 'my mage' song, probably one more session to fix some of the recording and levels and then I'll attach a video to it.

Took an hour of clips on my rogue tonight too for a bg video which will be thrown together tomorrow hopefully...

In the meantime here are some random clips put together that I didn't want to throw away and instead jammed em into this video with some sweet sweet Jenkees music. You can check out all this content at http://www.youtube.com/nooglide, or check out the clip following - enjoy!!

There I was just standing in WoW watching the usual gold sales and other nonsense fly by in the global city trade chat when a strange but warm looking message pops up offering tours of secret wow locations that you can't normally get to. Hatekin (Kel'Thuzad) is selling his guidance and wants to take me and some friends to various secret wow locations, some of which I've seen but some that I hadn't and it ended up being a pretty fun run:

Unfortunately I didn't get all the video captured needed to do this like a tutorial, but if you google these locations you can find other videos or posts explaining it; or just pop on Kel'Thuzad and ask Hatekin!
